Abstract: | This report describes the establishment of the Offender Programs Unit in the New South Wales Department of Corrective Services (DCS) as part of the policy to introduce evidence-based correctional programs. After an overview of the literature that provides a context for this initiative, the report describes the structural changes in program delivery introduced since the 1990s. The creation of the Offender Programs Unit is then described, followed by an account of the unit's work to December 2006. |
